Dawn, Okracoke Island, NC

Ocracoke is one of the barrier islands of North Carolina and much of the island is part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore with development limited to the village of Ocracoke.

The dawn sky you see here came as Kyle (2002), the hurricane or tropical storm that couldn't make up its mind and kept wandering about gaining and then losing strength, was blowing itself out. A troubled sky like this is one of the few good things about a tropical storm or hurricane.
