Dawn, Glacier National Park

As is so often the case the color of dawn is as dramatic as it is fleeting. This light was only there for a few seconds.

A friend and I were watching this dawn at Many Glacier in Glacier National Park, she looking to the west and I to the east. We each saw something magnificent and it was there only long enough to get a few frames. If all we were doing was snapping beautiful shots there might have been time to turn around and get the light in both directions but it was so compelling that we each watched it go from promising to beautiful to not so promising. So there wasn't time for us to turn around and capture what the other had seen.
