Autumn impression

This is one of those images that lacked interest as a straight photograph. It seemed like a good idea when I shot it, as many photographs do, but when it was developed it was pretty blah. The setting is
near Shampers Bluff in New Brunswick, Canada and is owned by Freeman Patterson, an outstanding photographer and teacher. I was taking one of his workshops.

A year or so passed and I got into Photoshop. I scanned the image and went to work on it with this result. One of my great desires since I started taking pictures many years ago was to produce a painterly effect. Photoshop and affordable quality printers have helped a lot.
