This image comes across as rather somber. The leaf and only a little bit of the fence are in focus.

The line of the fence represents the passing of time with the portion to the left of the leaf standing for the past and the part to the right the future. The shallow depth of field gives it concentration in the moment. The leaf, in focus and stuck in the fence, is dying. But there is a future, if only dimly known.

I am hearing Barber's Adagio for Strings in my head as I look at this.
