When we were young my wife asked my aunt Ruth, a truly masterful gardener, what to plant. The answer was daylilies. There are daylilies everywhere now and with so many there is a temptation to see them in their throngs and not look closely at the individual flowers. Here is one of the rewards of photography. To get the image we have to look at the subject and study it. This daylily repays the time spent. What to plant? The daylily was a good answer then and it's a good answer now. |
